Anonymous pamphlets, leaflets, brochures and even books have played an
important role in the progress of mankind. Great works of literature
have frequently been produced by authors writing under assumed names.
Despite readers’ curiosity and the public’s interest in identifying
the creator of a work of art, an author generally is free to decide
whether or not to disclose her true identity. The decision in favor of
anonymity may be motivated by fear of economic or official
retaliation, by concern about social ostracism, or merely by a desire
to preserve as much of one’s privacy as possible. Whatever the
motivation may be, at least in the field of literary endeavor, the
interest in having anonymous works enter the marketplace of ideas
unquestionably outweighs any public interest in requiring disclosure
as a condition of entry. Accordingly, an author’s decision to remain
anonymous, like other decisions concerning omissions or additions to
the content of a publication, is an aspect of the freedom of speech
protected by the First Amendment.

It’s a beautiful morning with little kids when the sewer backs up into your bathtub. And while trying to locate the cleaning materials to disinfect said bathtub, you discover that it also backed up under your kitchen sink.

Ollie put down his toys this morning and started begging for “This Old House” on TV. Forget Noggin, Nick Jr., or even PBS Kids, my son wants DIY. I guess it’s better than Sponge Bob Squarepants and all the ads aimed towards children. Both boys know Norm Abrams and Kevin O’Connor on site.

There is no way I’m actually sitting in my living room, typing right now. Want to know why? My children are getting along. They’re playing together, in the playroom, with no screaming or hitting. They haven’t asked me to turn on the TV, they’re actually playing with the thousands of toys they own. Somebody pinch me. They even ate their whole breakfasts without complaining and asking for something different.
Lightning is going to strike my house today.
Update: Now I know the world is going end. I got to go to the bathroom by myself.

I’m so freakin’ ready for the game tonight. The Ottawa Senators are in Raleigh, and despite the warm weather, I’m a hockey frame of mind. I’m ready to see my Hurricanes redeem themselves from some unpredictable play of late.
A covered table is like honey to flies for small children. I’m regretting the decision to cover a table to put our Christmas tree on this year. Not only will the kids not stay out from under it, but the cats seem to gravitate towards it, too.
Childproofing will never keep your kids from getting injured. It just lessens the risk. They will find a way to climb something or even gash their foreheads open on rounded, plastic, safety edges.
The greatest idea I’ve had of late was to create a playroom. We bolted the furniture to the walls and made it as safe as we could. We put a baby-gate up in the doorway and I get to take a shower ALL BY MYSELF!
Everybody thinks their opinion is the right opinion. I’ve been on a forum with some folks for over a year now and I’ve learned one thing. Arguing on the internet is like winning a race in the Special Olympics. Please, don’t get all offended, just think about it. Even if you win, you’re still retarded.
