Janeybell here. I’m a stay-at-home mom with two little boys, Emmett (18 months) and Ollie (3 years). My husband and I were so excited about having kids, then we got our little reality checks 19 months apart. Its been a bumpy road here in eastern North Carolina, but we have a great little family, a great little house, a great little dog, and two great big kitties.
Our little house is a work in progress and a constant project. In the two years we’ve lived here we’ve gutted the kitchen, refinished the hardwood floors, walled in a door, redone the bathroom, and painted lots. Now we’re focusing on the outside. We’re scraping, painting and replacing windows. All this while bottle-making, toilet training, vocabulary enhancing, and toddlerhood. (Hey, Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.)
Other than our boys and our Jack Russel Terrier, Maggie, our family revolves around ice hockey. We love the Carolina Hurricanes and the East Carolina University Pirates. I’ll take hockey in just about any form, though, and follow the NHL religiously. We make it up to Raleigh for as many Canes’ games as we can in person and park ourselves in front of the TV for the rest. We have entirely too much cable, and its only because of hockey. I’ve even managed to get the boys excited about the coolest sport, ever. We took them to their first game in September and Ollie got a practice puck from one of the trainers that is now his prize possession.
Hope everybody enjoys the my writing. It makes some of the harder times with the boys a little easier to swallow because it forces me to find the humor in it. Read on, and I hope you find it as fun as I do.
